Feedback has shown that Tuning in to Kids helps children:
» To calm down when distressed
» Get along better with other children
» Express their emotions in more appropriate ways
(subject to minimum number of attendees)
Programs are organised based on individual need and often by age.
We offer School Readiness, Friends Feel Fyne and Circle of Friends programs. School Readiness (preschoolers) and Circle of Friends (primary school aged) programs may run over 5 consecutive days in school holidays. Friends Feel Fyne (6-8 years, 9-11 years, 12+ years) programs run weekly during school terms. Further programs are being developed.

Run over 5 consecutive days in school holidays this group aims to help prepare pre-school aged children for school. Sessions may include the following topics: following instructions, joining in play, asking for help, fine motor skill practice, learning more about the child's own school, practising putting bag away, opening lunch box and other self-help skills.
Our program, influenced by the capabilities curriculum areas of The Victorian Curriculum F–10, is organised into sessions focused on building social skills and emotional literacy through a combination of fun activities, such as stories, songs and games. The sessions are tailored to meet the needs of the children in the group and may include the following focus areas:
• Self-awareness - recognition of emotions, self-knowledge, self-perception, self-worth.
• Self-management - appropriate expression of emotions, self-discipline, goal setting, confidence, resilience and adaptability.
• Social awareness - empathy, understanding relationships.
• Social management - communication, working collaboratively, building and maintaining relationships.
